Declan Wood

Augusta, GA – Declan Nicholas Wood, 22, entered into rest Monday, September 19, 2022.

Declan was born in Athens GA. On December 11th 1999. He attended St. Mary on the Hill School and graduated from Aquinas High School in 2018. He was enrolled in the AU cyber program and worked at Frog Hollow Hospitality Group.

Declan was known for his upbeat personality and his legendary generosity among family, friends and anyone lucky enough to meet him. His “unintentional swagger” gifted him the ability to tear down boundaries and be a blessing to all people. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Family members include his parents: Nicholas and Kimberlee Wood; sister: Bronwyn Wood; paternal grandparents: Arthur and Maureen Wood; maternal grandmother: Sandra Harper; uncles: Richard Wood, Sean Harper, and Brian Harper; cousins: Finnegan Harper and Mackenzie Harper; and girlfriend: Jeslyn Key. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Donald Harper.

The funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Ross celebrant. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Bussey, Andrew Paschal, Alex Givens, Seth Cawthorne, Harrison Bernard, and Malcolm Johnson.
