Waynesboro, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, Mr. Donald Gordon Wren, 73, loving husband of 52 years to Mrs. Hebe S. Wren.
Donnie was born in Augusta, Georgia, graduated from Butler High School where he met his high school sweetheart and married her. He served in the Naval Reserve and then worked for Coca-Cola where he retired as a sales manager after 35 years. Donnie was a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church where he enjoyed serving as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. His hobbies were golfing, fishing, being on the water and all trips to Charleston, SC. Donnie had a fun loving personality and loved to make people laugh. Known as “Big Daddy” to his grandchildren, Donnie was loving and devoted as a husband, father and grandfather.
Family members in addition to his wife Hebe include his children: Keith Wren (Arlene) and Nikki Redd (Stuart); grandchildren: Aaron Keith Wren, Faith Elizabeth Wren, Andrew Isaac Wren, Satcher William Redd, Wyatt Keith Redd, Whitt Nicolas Redd; sisters: Debbie Wren Penn (Benny) and Susan Wren Garrett (Barry) and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Aleen Wren.
The funeral service will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Kyle Wilson and Rev. Joey Vinson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Dr. Rocky Turner, Eddie Anderson, Brandon Garrett, Lenny Nobles, Mike Jones and Mike Bell.
