A. Hinton Baker, Jr.
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, October 22, 2015, Mr. A. Hinton Baker, Jr., 70, husband of 48 years to Mrs. Gail Smith Baker.
Mr. Baker was born in Augusta, GA and was a graduate of Richmond Academy. He attended Augusta College and received an associate’s degree from Augusta Tech in Computer Programing. Mr. Baker earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS Soley and the USS Semmes as a radio man.
In addition to his wife family members include children: A. Hinton Baker, III and Elizabeth Baker Weckel (Jerry); granddaughters: Hannah Weckel and Melody Weckel; brothers: W. Forbes Baker (Kaye) and Thomas P. Baker (Linda); eight nieces and nephews; and dear friend: B. Rucker Vaiden. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his brother: Boykin R. Baker and his parents: Archibald H. Baker and Virginia Forbes Baker.
A memorial service will be Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert M. Watkins officiating.
The family of Mr. Baker would like to thank Dr. Christopher McElroy and Doctors Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church 3131 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30909.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
