Mr. Al Candler

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at his residence, Mr. Al Candler, 86, husband of 64 years to Mrs. Margie Holloway Candler.

Mr. Candler was a member at St. Mark United Methodist Church and was a former French Bible Class teacher. He was a member and officer of the Augusta China Painters. Mr. Candler was on the Board of Directors of the Augusta Seaboard Federal Credit Union, a member of the VFW (Milledge Rd.), and a member of Young at Heart Choir at St. Mark United Methodist Church.

Family members in addition to his wife include daughter, Lynn Powell (Lee) of Augusta, son: Bert Candler of Augusta, grandson: Bobby Lide (Traci), great grandchildren: Ainsley and Ian, brother: Walter L. Candler, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Broome and Rev. Gerald Varner officiating. Burial will follow in Overbrook Cemetery in McCormick, SC. Honorary pallbearers will be the French Bible Class.
