Hilton Head, SC – Entered into rest Monday, December 19, 2011 at University Hospital, Mr. Albert George Bachand, Jr., 88, husband to the late Rita A. Bachand.
Mr. Bachand was born in Bristol, CT. He was executive president of General Motors and was a member of St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church in Hilton Head. Mr. Bachand traveled extensively with his wife, Rita, and lived abroad during his successful career at GM. He was an exceptional athlete and a brilliant man. He was a hero to his daughters and a role model to his grandsons. Mr. Bachand will be loved and missed by his family.
Family members include daughters, Deborah Bradley and husband Perry Crawford from Hilton Head, SC, Marcia Crowther from Augusta, GA, grandchildren: Ryan Bradley and wife Emily, Patrick Bradley, Joseph Crowther and wife Jean, Jeffrey Crowther, and great granddaughter: Quinn Bradley.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Oenbrink celebrant. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Medical University of South Carolina, Department of Neurosciences, 96 Jonathan Lucas Street, CSB428-MSC616, Charleston, SC 29425-6160.
