Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at University Hospital, Mr. Albert King, Jr., 81, husband of Mrs. Huguette E. King.

Mr. King was native of Mitchell, IN but lived in Augusta since 1977. He enlisted and served in the US Air Force, later he enlisted and retired as a SFC-7 after 20 years of service in the US Army and was a veteran of Korea and Vietnam. After retirement he began a career with ITT at Fort Gordon in communications. Mr. King earned an Associates Degree in Business Administration. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Mr. King was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons,Lodge No. 710, Scottish Rite and Alee Temple. He was a member and past Commander of the Legion of Honor. He enjoyed fishing and golf. The family would like to thank the staff at University Hospital Cardiovascular Institute and 7 West for all their love and care.

Family members in addition to his wife include daughters: Cynthia Porter and her late husband Brad, Tammy Allen and husband Wayne the late Shirley Anderson and her husband the late Thomas; seven grandchildren, 11 great grand children; sister: Betty Tow and husband the late Mutt; brothers: Charles King, Norman King and wife Eleanor, Jack King and wife Joanne. Mr. King was predeceased by his sisters Sue, Nellie and Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held, Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Philip Vestal officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors and Masonic Rites. Honorary pallbearers will be the Masons and the Legion of Honor.
