Martinez, GA – Albert McCoy Shaw, 94 died on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 surrounded by family.
He was born on January 21, 1924 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina to Nanny Cleaton Shaw and John Albert Shaw. He was a WWII veteran and one of “The Greatest Generation”. He was a district manager with Exxon Corporation for 32 years. He loved the Lord, his family, golf, and has pulled up more beginning skiers than anyone can even count.
He is survived by his wife: Joyce Elaine Thompson Shaw and was predeceased in death by his first wife: Martha Rob Cherry Shaw. He is survived by his daughter: Cherry Shaw Farthing (Richard Aubyn Farthing II); his son: William Robert Shaw (Dorothy Timm Shaw); and his daughter Elizabeth Shaw Phillips (William Spivey Phillips). He was predeceased in death by his son John Albert Shaw III. His surviving grandchildren are Jodie Farthing Collier, Jennifer Farthing Crosby, John Albert Shaw IV, William Ryan Shaw, Richard Aubyn Farthing III, William Augustus Phillips, Ashley Shaw Matthews, Megan Phillips Wegmann, and Dorothy Martha Shaw. Thompson grandchildren are Jessica Jarman, Joanna Jarman McCabe, Barron Thompson, John Jarman, Audra Thompson Palmer, Malisa Thompson Anderson, and Lara Thompson OKelley. He is survived by 24 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be at the Church of the Holy Comforter on Fury’s Ferry Road, Martinez, Ga. at 3:00 P.M., Friday, April 13, 2018. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the home (3544 Pebble Beach Dr) Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
