Aleksandra Demediuk

Augusta, GA – Aleksandra Demediuk, 88, died June 27th in her sleep at her home in Martinez, Georgia. The only child of Drs. Katerina Dormidontova and Feodor Leschuk, she was born on January 17, 1926 in Kiev, Ukraine. In Karlesruhe, Germany Aleksandra met her husband Dmytro and received a master’s degree in music from the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe in 1949. Immigrating to the US in 1950, Aleksandra and Dmytro settled in Highland Park, New Jersey and resided there until moving to Martinez in 2001. While raising two daughters, Aleksandra taught piano.

She is survived by her husband Dmytro, daughters Oksana and Nina Demediuk with their respective spouses, Ranjit Dhaliwal of Martinez, GA and Richard Caro of San Francisco, granddaughters Samantha and Catherine Dhaliwal, Marguerite Caro, and countless piano students both in New Jersey and Georgia that she enriched with her love for classical music.
