Alfred Freeman Newman, Sr.
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, August 09, 2013 at Trinity Hospital, Alfred Freeman Newman, 87, husband of the late Joyce R. Newman.
Mr. Newman served in the United States Navy and was a World War II veteran. He was a longtime, active member of Warren Baptist Church and the Muns Sunday School Class and Joy Club. He was a private pilot and loved to fly. He was a member of the EAA Chapter 172. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 63. He retired from BellSouth as a Special Services Installer with 37 years of service. He was also proud to attain an amateur extra radio license (ham radio).
Family members include daughters: Rosanne Mason and husband Charles, Terri Padgett and husband Richard; son: A. Freeman Newman, Jr. and wife Bunny; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Warren Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Dillard officiating. Private interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
