Allen Amerson, Jr.

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, Mr. Thomas Allen Amerson, Jr., 89, loving husband of 53 years to Elizabeth “Liz” Amerson.

Allen was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta, GA. He was a 1953 graduate of the Academy of Richmond County. He had a 31 year career with Ryder Truck Systems, retiring as District Sales Manager. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church for 35 years. He was former chairman of Deacons at Damascus Baptist. He was also a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class and the Board of Trustees at Damascus Baptist. He served for 25 years with the Martinez Volunteer Fire Department

Family members in addition to his wife include his daughters: Sabrina A. Cliett and Pamela Edwards (George); son: Thomas Allen Amerson III (Missy); grandchildren: Jordan Edwards (Bella) and Hayley Pournaras (Steve). He is predeceased by his son: Mike Hall; and granddaughter: Tabatha Barton.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Damascus Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. David Stockton and Rev. Brian Carter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
