Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the VA Hospital, Mr. Alvin Bunch Greene, 73, husband of the late June Posey Greene.

Mr. Greene was a native of Gates, NC and lived in Augusta since 1965. He retired from the United States Army as a Master Sergeant after 24 years of service. He served in the Vietnam War from 1967-1968. Mr. Greene was a member of the Church of Our Savior. He was a member of American Legion #205, the Eagles Club, H2U at Doctor’s Hospital.

Family members include sons: Jack Posey, Jr. (Pam), Danny Posey (Jean) and Gary Posey (Jackie); Daughters: Paula Kaylor, Nona Ligon (Paul); 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers: Orson Greene (Patty), P.D. Greene, Jr. (Maryann); Sister: Merita Early and his friend and companion: Lilo Gough, her daughter: Shirley Marzan.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Fr. Willard Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial with full military honors.
