Ft. Valley, GA. – Entered into rest Tuesday, August 11, 2009, Mr. Andrew (Andy) W. Godbee, 50, son of the late Bill and Cathy Godbee of Augusta.
Mr. Godbee was a native of Augusta but resided in Ft. Valley, GA where he was employed by Warner Robins Air Force Base for the past 27 years. He graduated from Augusta College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science /Physics degree. He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1977 where he lettered in football for four years. He was a cancer survivor for the past 20 years. He loved his music and movies but most of all his family who he kept in laughter for years with the many stories that he told.
Mr. Godbee is survived by his siblings: Thomas W. Godbee of Augusta, Barbara S. Godbee of Grovetown, Julia Godbee Nevedale and her husband Ronald of North Augusta, SC, and James J. Godbee of Winterville, GA; and his nephew and niece: Steven Shiloh Hall of Augusta and Lindsey Lang Nevedale of North Augusta, SC.
A Vigil for the Deceased will be held Friday, August 14, 2009 at 5:30 PM in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Father Mark Van Alstine.
