Augusta, GA – Granny Annie, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 13, 2016, her 45th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She attended Tubman Jr. High and The Academy of Richmond County. She owned Annie’s 16th Hole and The Tip Top during the early 80’s but retired as Office Manager from Frank Christian Studios.

She was an energetic entrepreneur who is the inventor of the Bibbettes, Rice Pattie Dolls, Glass Birdbaths and Bejeweled Chandeliers as well as others too numerous to mention. Although fluent in the English language she spoke a language all her own that only her niece Candy Craig understood. Her kitchen was always open and her house was home to many. Therefore her husband was always broke.

She never met a stranger and anyone who ever met her fell instantly in love. Her kindness was unsurpassed and her generosity knew no bounds. There will never be another one like her…We love you mom.

Granny loved her family most of all and was happiest when they were all together. They include her devoted husband: Robert Williams; daughters: Ginger Sitler and husband David, Michelle Durand and husband Tracy, Andrea Armstrong and husband Johnny; sons: Bill Walker and wife Ginger, Henry Williams and wife Brooke; loving grandchildren: Anna Sitler Lane (Brian), Clint Sitler, Brooke Durand Mailey (Andy), Heath Durand, Tanner Durand, John Armstrong, Erin Armstrong, Ryan Walker, Harper Hinson, Hayes Hinson, Jack Craig, and Marlow Craig; great grandchildren: Aidan McDonald, Hadley McDonald, and Sadie Lane; brothers: Frank J. Christian, Jr. (Jackie), Francis James Christian (Beth), and Paul Charles Christian, Sr. (Lynn); sister: Patricia Hayes Clayton (Marcus); sister-in-law and best friend: Francie Christian Anderson; Brothers- in-law: Tommy Williams (Emily) and the late Bill Williams (Brenda). And many loving nieces and nephews and people that love her. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank J. Christian, Sr. and Martha Christian Edmunds; and brothers: Robert Anthony Christian, Henry Weathers Christian, and Benjamin Ralph Christian and her grandsons Taylor and Tyler Armstrong.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Heart and Vascular Institute at University Hospital and the Intensive Care Unit at Doctors Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.
