Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, May 6, 2022, Mrs. Ann Wesley Hamilton Ezell, 76, loving wife of 50 years to Dr. Ronnie L. Ezell.
Ann earned her bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University and her Master of Education degree from the University of Georgia. Ann began teaching in 1971. She taught English in Walton, Barrow and Columbia County Georgia schools as well as North Augusta, SC. She taught for 11 years and was beloved by many students who often credited her for instilling a strong work ethic. Students often reached out later in life to thank her for the encouragement she gave while teaching. After a rewarding teaching career, Ann went on to work for Apple at the local Apple Computer Store in 1982. Drawing on her years spent in public education, she predominately sold Apple computers to schools across the CSRA. Her role included not only selling computers, but also complete installation, and product education for each school. Ann was named top public-school salesperson in the state of Georgia by the Apple Computer Corporation for two consecutive years. After 10 years there, her final career stint was as a realtor for Remax True Advantage in Augusta. She was a Remax Masters Agent of the Year Silver Medalist. She retired in 2019 after 27 years in the field. Ann was a long-time member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church where she attended with her family.
Ann was an outgoing, funny person with a fierce love of roller coasters, loud music, and bridge. In her younger years she spent her free time on the tennis courts but moved on to swimming as she aged. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She never turned down an opportunity to play school, teach card games or play a mean game of charades. Ann inspired others with her strength and resiliency and in turn raised two strong daughters. Ann was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Family members in addition to her husband include daughters: Christy Brock (Andrew) and Sharon Rhodes (David); grandchildren: Drew Brock, Kathryn Brock and Regan Rhodes and sister: Lydia Skilton (Richard) of Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Irma Hamilton.
A memorial service will be Saturday, May 21 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Scott Hearn officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church.
