Ann Lide Pelt, 73, of Augusta passed away at home on Thursday, April 13, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Francis (Fran) Marion Lide and Josephine (Jo) Harris Lide and the sister of Robert (Bob) Erwin Lide. Ann attended the Academy of Richmond County and Augusta College. She was a Richmond County educator for 31 years who taught at various schools over her career. During her lifetime, she was a member of both the Hill and Crossbridge Baptist Churches. Her favorite Bible scriptures were 1st Corinthians Chapter 13 and Isaiah 53.6. Her favorite religious songs included Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, and Awesome God. In her free time, she loved to read, listen to music especially Country and Neil Diamond and to teach line dancing at various CSRA locations. She loved and cheered for her Clemson Tigers and was so excited when her favorite color purple was added to their uniforms.
Ann leaves behind her daughter Amy (Paul) Gilstad, long-time companion Jim Bauer, sister-in-law Lynn (Lee) Powell, nephew Bobby (Traci) Lide, great-nephew Ian Lide, great-niece Ainsley Lide, and cat Sammy. Ann enjoyed talking, dancing, and spending time with all her childhood, line dancing and church friends. She loved her family and friends and was thankful for their love and support. Special thanks to her caregivers at the Georgia Cancer Center especially Dr. Sharad Ghamande, Katie Dorr, Kristen Culpepper, Mandy Spires, Gwen Stanley, Reshma Benny, Lauren Mullinax, Veronica Sampson and Erleen Rotger who made her long cancer fight as pleasant as possible with their loving care, positivity and dedication.
Services will be private. Any donation in her honor may be made to the CSRA Humane Society, 425 Wood Street, Augusta, GA 30904 or any animal rescue group of your choice.
