Mrs. Annabel Corley Hill

Augusta, GA – Went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 16, 2011, Mrs. Annabel Corley Hill, 91, wife of the late Leonard Dozier Hill III.

Mrs. Hill was born in Edgefield County, SC, the daughter of the late Dr. Augustus Harrison Corley and Sara Cannon Corley. She was preceded in death by her brothers Grady Cannon Corley and Augustus Harrison Corley, Jr. She graduated from the University of Georgia. Mrs. Hill taught at Augusta Christian School, worked at DFCS in Burke and Richmond Counties as a social worker, and was an active leader in the local chapter of Women’s Aglow Group. Annabel built her legacy by influencing others to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Before residing at Keysville Nursing Home she was an active member in her church at Lighthouse Assembly of God in Grovetown, GA.

Family members include her children: James “Jimmy” Whitehead Hill (Diane) of Inman, SC, Sara Hill Jenkins (Johnny) of Waynesboro, GA, Leonard Dozier Hill IV (Patty) of Waynesboro, GA, Deborah Hill Lord (Tony) of Appling, GA, and Elizabeth “Betsy” Hill Sharp (Joe) of Evans, GA; nephew, Augustus Harrison Corley III (Diane) of Summet, NJ; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great nephew.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Warren Ham officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Hill, Timothy Hill, Richie McClellan, Travis Nunnally, Jesse Palmer IV, and Daniel Sasser.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Keysville Nursing Home for their professional care and love.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the church of your choice.
