Anne Boyles Garrett

Augusta, GA- Anne Boyles Garrett completed her earthly journey on September 7, 2013. A native Augustan, Anne was born on March 19, 1946 to the late Juanita Sizemore Boyles and Fulton B. Boyles. Anne began her long career in the mortgage loan industry in 1965 at Southern Finance Corporation until it was sold to First Union. She then became an officer with Nationwide Lending in Augusta and later joined First Choice Mortgage where she worked for seventeen years until her retirement in 2010.

Always a stickler for detail with a superior work ethic, Anne spent her career working tirelessly to provide all of her clients with the best and most efficient service. She was a highly trained professional in every respect. Her success was as equally defined by her deep knowledge of the business as by her elegant style. The industry has truly lost “one of a kind”.

Anne loved being with Phin and Millie, her two grandchildren. She loved being in Charleston with them and doing all of the activities that they enjoyed, including trips out to Folly Beach. When Anne wasn’t in Charleston, she was spending time with her close knit group of friends. She loved displaying her wonderful culinary skills which she learned from her mother by entertaining her friends on many a Sunday afternoon.

Survivors include one son, Stewart Phinizy Garrett III (Beth) of Charleston, South Carolina; two brothers, Thomas F. Boyles (Kathy) of Augusta, Georgia and James R. Boyles (Emily) of North Augusta, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Stewart Phinizy Garrett IV and Julia Anne Miller Garrett, both of Charleston, South Carolina; three nieces, Emily Boyles Hadden of Augusta, Georgia, Elizabeth Boyles Overton (James) of North Augusta, South Carolina and Wendi Boyles Sellars (David) of Roswell, Georgia.

Anne was predeceased by her favorite nephew Benjamin D. Boyles of Augusta, Georgia and her two four-legged friends, “Gucci” and “Armoni”. She leaves behind a host of loving friends who have been constantly by her side and a faithful caregiver, Sandra Seymore.
