Augusta, GA – Anne Creamer Manning, 80, wife of the late Richard Irvine (Dick) Manning, died Saturday, August 13, 2022 at her home.
Anne was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was the daughter of Florence Carolyn Creamer Bovard and Oliver Kirby Bovard and the granddaughter of Matthee Pilcher Creamer and Harry Raymond Creamer of Augusta.
She was a graduate of Richmond Academy, Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and the University of Georgia where she received a bachelor of arts degree in education. She was active in Augusta charitable and service organizations serving as president of the Junior League of Augusta, president of the Augusta Symphony Guild, chairman of the Augusta Chapter of the American Red Cross, chairman of the Old Government House and a member of Historic Augusta. Anne was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and later joined St. Paul’s Church so that she and her husband Dick could attend church together.
She is survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jane and Preston C. Manning of Staunton, VA, a sister-in-law, Eugenia Manning of Columbia, SC, wife of the late Frederick Manning, and many loving friends.
The funeral will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church with the Rev. Eric Biddy officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
