Annemarie Jacobi

Martinez, GA - On October 8, 2023 Frau Annemarie Jacobi entered into rest to be with her many family members in Heaven who had gone on before. Frau Jacobi was 98 years old, the loving wife of 70 years to the late Paul Heinz Jacobi. She left on her Heavenly journey with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.

Annemarie was born on December 29, 1924 in Karlsruhe, Germany to the late August and Marie-Luise Ernst. She lived in Frankfurt, Germany. However, she spent the last 4 and a half years in Martinez, Georgia with her daughter and son-in-law.

Annemarie was a great cook and a wonderful baker. To this day everybody raves about her Christmas cookies and her “Torten”. She also made the best red currant jelly from the berries she grew in her garden. Cats have been a part of Annemarie’s life since her childhood in Karlsruhe. But she especially loved her daughter’s “Katerle”, Maverick.

She is survived by her daughter: Eva-Maria; her son-in-law: Larry Proudfit; grandson: Christopher (Anne) Proudfit and granddaughter: Emily (Bryan) Main; Great granddaughter: Audrey and great grandson: Brandon; sister: Marie-Luise Schaaf; sister-in-law: Rosa Ernst; Nieces: Christiane, Lucia, Monika, Elisabeth; nephew: Andreas, and extended family and friends in the United States and Germany. She is predeceased by her husband, her parents, brother Karl and brother-in-law Albrecht.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt and deep appreciation to the Visiting Angels, especially Tessa, Tammy, Valerie, Shirley, Shaquanda, and Mispah for their compassion and exceptional care over the last two and a half years, and to Sue for her always steadfast concern for Annemarie’s health and welfare.

There will be no visitation or service locally. According to her wishes she will be cremated and laid to rest next to her husband Heinz in Frankfurt, Germany. Services and burial will be in Frankfurt at a later date.
