Arthur P. Moore
Retired Georgia –Florida Railroad
Augusta, GA – Mr. Arthur P. Moore, age 95, entered into rest on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Westwood Nursing Home.
Mr. Moore was a native of Kite, GA and resided in Augusta for the last 65 years. He was a member of Mize Memorial United Methodist Church. He retired from the Georgia Florida Railroad as a Chief Car Inspector. He later retired from Beckham Petroleum.
Family members include his son, Mitch Moore and wife Nancy; grandchildren: Mitch Moore, Jr. and wife Denise, Stephanie M. Lazenby and husband Julian, Scott Moore and wife Kelli; great-grandchildren: Lindsay Suzanne, Sarah Jane, and Mary Grace Moore, Scott Terry, and Maris Anne Moore; He is survived by brothers: Oscar Moore, M.G. Moore; and sisters: Emma Lee Stovall, Mildred Elder, and Christine Carter. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Curry Moore and daughter: Suzanne M. Echols; sisters: Mae Harris, Ray Miles and brother: Henry Moore.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 31, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Scott Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
