Artie Smith

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, February 14, 2025, Mr. Artie R. Smith, 70, loving husband of 51 years to Janice Smith. 

Artie retired from the Augusta-Richmond County Fire Department after 18 years then was a truck driver for over 25 years. He was a fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and enjoyed fishing. He loved joking and cutting up and was very friendly to everyone. Artie was known to many as "Fireman".

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his son: Christopher Smith; daughter: Jennifer Ellis (Kim Ellis); grandsons: Brandon and Bryce- Ellis; and Brother Pat Smith (Gayle Smith). He is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick (Henry) and Jean Smith.
