Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, January 22, 2013, Mr. Aubrey S. Ghann, 86, loving husband of 67 years to Helen Hensley Ghann.

Mr. Ghann was a member of Warren Baptist Church for over 50 years and was also a Deacon. He founded Ghann’s Cricket Farm, Inc. in 1952 which grew from a small family business into a worldwide supplier of insects to the fishing bait and pet food industries.

Mr. Ghann graduated from Richmond Academy and from William R. Moore Technical School in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a dedicated family man, loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and a wonderful friend. He enjoyed fishing, golf, western movies, and football.

Family members in addition to his wife include daughter: Fonda G. Patterson (Richard) of Augusta; son: Clay A. Ghann (Cathy) of Augusta; grandchildren: Ghann P. Shirer (Jamey), Ben Ghann, Beau Ghann, Hope Patterson; great grandchildren: Jake Shirer and Rob Shirer.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Warren Baptist Church with Dr. Frank Page officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Travis Starr, Davis Bohler, Jack Morris, Bruce Skinner, David Goldman, Mark Sullivan, and Phil Boone. Honorary pallbearers will be Muns/White Men’s Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, if so desired, contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 1220 George C. Wilson Dr., Augusta, GA 30909.

The family will receive friends Thursday in the Hattie Rhodes Langley Room, behind the chapel, from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
