Audrey was born and raised in Augusta, GA. She graduated from Richmond Academy in 1957. She met the love of her life, Earl Kenneth Hawn, at the pool located at Oliver General Hospital in 1956. He was in the Army. They were married on March 1, 1958, they had three.
Audrey, Earl, and the girls travelled to many different countries as well as the United States. Our mother was able to travel to many other places and met many wonderful people along the way.
They came back to Augusta in 1975 from Japan, we retired here. My dad and Papa along with my Uncle Pierce built a house on the Savannah River so that my mother could be close to her parents.
She began working at Smoak’s Bakery in 1965. She was there until they closed in 2004. When she came home for the holidays during our dads military career, she went back to Smoak’s and took up where she left off.
Audrey was a wonderful wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was also the best friend anyone could ever have.
Audrey is proceeded in death by her husband of 44 years, Earl Kenneth Hawn. Her parents Wallace (Moot) & Juanita McDonald Dorn, her brother Wallace Manly Dorn III, and her grandson Travis Arnett and her favorite aunt Dorothy Moody Dorn.
She left behind to cherish her sweet memories daughters Sam Walton (David), Terri Bass (Robert), and Karen Arnett (Lynn), Gary and Tonya Walton. Also 11 grandchildren, 15 great-children, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her best friend and cousin Anne Dees.
She had a wonderful caregiver, Della Seigler, from Comfort Keepers. We all love her like family.
And a very special thanks to Promedica Hospice Care for helping us get through her end of life, they made it easy.
She left many friends behind who became family. We appreciate you all.
She was told a lot of secrets and she took them all to the grave with her.
