Augusta, GA – Mr. Austin Richmond Banks entered into rest Wednesday, February 04, 2015.
Mr. Banks attended Darton College and Augusta State University. He was an assistant swim coach for the Aiken Augusta Swim League. He was an avid University of Georgia fan, he enjoyed coaching and working with children and he loved his family.
Family members include his parents: Martin and Dorothy Banks; maternal grandmother: Elsie Bard; aunts: Cathie Benko, Molly Banks, JoAnne Horton; uncles: Tommy Banks, Dan Banks; and cousins: Heidi Benko, Heather Benko, Kate Banks, Elizabeth Banks Knight, Evans Horton, Zach Banks, Hunter Banks, Banks Knight, Amelia Sorgie, and Sophia Sorgie. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Margery and Torbit Banks, Jr.; and maternal grandfather: William John Bard.
A memorial service will be Friday, February 6, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Hatfield and Dr. Mike Cash officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of the service in the Gathering Area at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Kathryn M. York Adapted Aquatics Center, 3570 Wheeler Rd Augusta, GA 30909 or to the CSRA Humane Society, 425 Wood Street, Augusta, GA 30904.
