Augusta, GA - Barbara Cooper, born August 16, 1936, passed away on August 16, 2018, her 82nd birthday. She will be laid to rest in her hometown of Augusta, Georgia. Her friends and family are gathering to celebrate her life on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Thomas Poteet & Son on Davis Road. The visitation begins at 1pm and memorial service at 2pm.

Known as Bobby by her friends and GG by her great grandkids, she will be missed dearly. Her passion for life was contagious, and her family was blessed by her fight for unity. For she in many ways held the family together through various hard times, struggles, and uncertainties, but because of her courageous spirit and relentless love, her four children grew in independence and ultimately enriched her life with 3 grandchildren and 7 great children.

Over her lifetime, Barbara was a tireless worker, and even owned a chain of beauty salons at one point. She was also never short of offering her advice and council. She was firm in her ways, but one couldn’t help but love and respect her for her strength and impassioned spirit.

She will be truly missed by all who knew her and will be treasured for the memories, laughter, and the love for life she shared with all.
Barbara is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Darlene Cooper and Debbie Cooper; her son, Johnny Cooper; her nieces, Mary Jordan and Marion Cowell; her grandkids, Dana Cason, Nikki May, and Dagan Sharpe; and her great grandkids, Wyatt, Wheeler, and Walker Cason, Kaylee and Caden Sharpe, and Riley and Cooper Howard. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, William Cooper.
