Grovetown, GA – (Barbara) Jean Faulkner, age 85 went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 9, 2022. She longed to see Jesus face-to-face, and to be reunited with her beloved “Golden Girls,” Ernie and Lois. She died at home, in a peaceful sleep and surrounded by love, as was her desire.
“Mama Jean” was born on January 10, 1937, in Plymouth, Illinois, to Melvin A. Faulkner and Darlene Smith Faulkner – the third of twelve children. She was educated in Illinois and served in the United States Army. She served as the Risk Manager for the Salvation Army territorial headquarters for 20 years; handling claims for the seven Western States in America.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Richard “Dick” Faulkner, and Thomas “Butch” Faulkner, and one sister, Sandy Faulkner Welch. She is survived by six sisters, Marilyn Faulkner Harris, Janet R. Faulkner, Beverly Kay Faulkner, Linda Faulkner Black, Pam Faulkner Evans, Roberta “Bobbie Lynn” Faulkner Hopkins, and two brothers, James “Jim” Faulkner, and Donald “Donnie” Faulkner.
“Mama Jean” had a feisty personality, a strong will, and a generous, giving spirit. She loved deeply and shared prophetic wisdom and insight with anyone who would ask. Her legacy will live on through the love of her “daughters,” Sue Reimer and Peggy Webb, and in the wisdom of her favorite “son-in-law,” Bob Reimer.
She was most grateful for the “sister-of-her-heart,” Ernestine Martin, who introduced her to Jesus and showed her how to love others. The biggest challenge of her life was the ability to forgive those who had hurt her over the years so she could live in freedom.
