Barbara Ann Gates

Barbara Ann Gates, 73, of Blythe, GA entered into rest on May 6, 2023 at her home.

Barbara was born on December 1, 1949 to the late Walter and Myrtle Wortman of Toluca, NC. She married the love of her life Marion “Buddy” Gates on December 24, 1964. Barbara was the glue to the family. Not only a homemaker, she also helped her husband with their business “Marion Gates Wallpaper” for 32 years. She spent most of her life caring for her family, which she loved to do. Of all the loved ones she cared for, her husband Buddy and son Dean, were by far her greatest blessings.

She was survived by her husband, Buddy Gates, her only child, Dean Gates of Blythe, special nieces, Becky Thomas (Ben), Renee Moxley (Destanee), special nephew, Jimbo Gates (Theresa), special cousin, Karen Johnson (Bo Johnson), and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her family has decided to have a private memorial service.
