Barbara was born in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Mr. Wesley Thomas Kimbrell, Sr., and Inez Isabell Anderson Kimbrell. She was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County School.
Barbara was most hospitable and always had a way about her that seemed to bring a smile to every face and brighten every room with laughter. Many believe this was just one of her many ways of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everyone she came in contact with felt welcome and comfortable. Her evangelical conversations will continue to live on in the memories of the lives she touched. People who knew Barbara knew that her mission and purpose in life was striving to be at the center of God's will. Praise God that this faithful servant is now in the presence of her Savior. To know Barbara was to know a woman of good humor, grace, and grit. She wasn't afraid of anything and her compassion for people was the hallmark of ministry throughout her life. She treasured being a mom at home raising her children and firmly, politely, encouraging them to be the best they could be. She and her husband Bill were married 30 years.
