Mrs. Barbara Jean Jordan, 90, of Augusta, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2023.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Don Carlos Jordan Jr, her son Mark Stephen Jordan and her parents Joseph Edward McKissick and Thelma Marion McKissick. She is survived by her three children, Don Carlos Jordan III, Joseph Michael Jordan (Tammy), and Tonya Jean Jordan Dempsey (Henry). She is also survived by her six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
To sum up the life of such an incredible woman is a task not to be taken lightly. Barbara Jean Jordan was a fierce woman, holding fast to her beliefs, and defending those she loved. Barbara was many things to many people and was loved by all. The title that she was most proud to hold was that of mother. Mother, as she loved to be called was a kind and giving person who always had time for anyone needing help. Mother had an impact on everyone that was blessed with having met her and she never met a stranger. Mother had a pure heart and a glow that would always make you feel better just by seeing her.
Mother was a beautiful flower in the great garden of the world. On the day that she went home to be with the Lord, this irreplaceable beauty is now shinning bright in a garden in heaven. The Lord blessed us with ninety years to watch this flower bloom into a beautiful and loving soul. We will miss this beautiful soul for only a short time until we are all called home to be with him.
MOTHER
Today is not a sad day but we will miss you just the same.
The sun will shine and warm our face, we will think of you every day.
Although we cannot hold your hand, we know that you are there.
You’ll watch us close and keep us safe, we still feel your loving care.
No marching bands no big parade, no induction into the hall of fame.
Today will end as it began, we still love you just the same.
The angels came and took you home, we will see you again someday.
We close our eyes, bow our heads, and this is what we pray.
Thank you, Lord, for the time we had, but we’ll miss her every day.
The one you have, the one we love, is special in every way.
So, until that day we’re all together, our dad, our sister, and brothers.
One thought that will always make us smile is knowing that you are our
MOTHER.
