Entered into rest Saturday, August 5, 2017, Benjamin Lee McTier, 53, loving husband of Lisa Dozier McTier.
Ben was a native of Augusta. He was an individual that had an impact on so many lives. Ben never met a stranger and if he did he would take the time to get to know them and share his testimony. Ben’s passion for trucking started before his feet could touch the pedals. He was the third driver hired by Club Car in the 80s and worked many years for them. He later worked for various trucking companies which made it possible to see all of this country, meeting and never forgetting any one that he met along the way.
In 2000 he and his wife started McTier Trucking, Inc. and had a successful business that he started with one truck and grew to be a thriving business with a fleet of 20 trucks. In 2013 after an automobile accident the business closed. Ben overcame his injuries and had the most phenomenal time celebrating life every day.
Ben brought hope to those whom knew his story of recovery. He was a man that could speak directly to God and could share the work of the most caring, compassionate and merciful God that saved him.
Ben will be greatly missed by everyone that ever had the opportunity to meet him, even if it was in passing he touched their lives. Go rest easy on those golden streets and know you are at peace now.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his son: Clint King; mother: Irena Watkins (Steve); father: Jim McTier (Annette); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, the Brother hood of Souls of Sobriety, countless friends that are family of Bill W.
