Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, July 7, 2015, Mrs. Bernadine “Dene” King Findley, 85, loving wife to the late Lamar “Buck” Findley.

Mrs. Findley was a member of Mann Memorial United Methodist Church since the early 1950’s. She was a graduate of the Georgia State Women’s College. She worked with the Richmond County Board of Education as a teacher for 28 years. She also taught at Langford Junior High and Davidson Fine Arts School.

She was a member of Operation Buddy and cooked for the Burn Center at Doctors Hospital. She sang with the church choir for many years. Mrs. Findley was a member of United Methodist Women and the Forest Acres Garden Club.

Mrs. Findley was known for her pecan pies, pound cakes, sense of humor, her jokes, and was devoted to her Christian faith. She deeply loved her family and was extremely proud of her grandchildren.

Family members include her daughters: Robin Chaly (Steve) of Evans, Paula Daniel (Tim) of Oak Hill, VA; grandchildren: Lauren Denman, Oksana Chaly, Hannah Chaly, Viktor Chaly, and Matthew Denman; and her sister: Charlotte Youngblood of Jekyll Island, GA. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Smith.

A funeral service will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Mann Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Bernard Sonny Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mann Memorial United Methodist Church, 2705 Milledgeville Rd., Augusta, GA 30904 or to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, GA 30909.
