Bernice Stanford Bostick
Martinez, GA – Bernice Stanford Bostick, 96, of Martinez, GA passed to Glory on Monday, September 24, 2012.
The funeral will be held at the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, Sunday, September 30, 2012, at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Phillip Winsett officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery at Fort Benning, Georgia on Monday October 1, 2012 at 1:00 P.M.
Mrs. Bostick was a native of Lamar County, Alabama. She was the wife of the late Macon Latel Bostick of Columbus, Georgia. She was a teacher, homemaker, quilter, seamstress and sales representative for The World Book Encyclopedia. During World War II she worked in a defense plant in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Rosa Lee Cagle Stanford and William Thomas Standford of Guin, Alabama.
She was a member of Martinez Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She belonged to Pieceful Hearts Quilters of North Augusta. She also participated in water aerobics at the Family Y in Augusta and made lap quilts for inpatients at the Charlie Norwood VA Nursing Home.
Survivors include three daughters: Susanne Bostick Allen (Mark) of Washington, D.C., Rebecca Bostick of Martinez, and Roberta Bostick Wilder (Rolston) of Evans; son: Macon Latel Bostick, Jr. of Columbus, Georgia and four grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ruth Sunday School Class.
