Bessie Carameros
Augusta, GA - Bessie Catsavas Carameros, 88, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at her home in St. John Towers. Mrs. Carameros, daughter of the late Gus Catsavas and Toni Antonakos Catsavas, was born October 19, 1925 in New York City. She lived in South Florida for 51 years before moving to Augusta in 2006.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Toni and Ron Peacock of Augusta, Karen and Rick Dyke of Tallahassee, FL, Cynthia Carameros of Boca Raton, FL, Kim Eisberg of Boynton Beach, FL; her son Keith Carameros of Akron, Ohio; her daughter-in-law Rebecca Carameros of Springfield, MO; her sisters: Florence Casanova of Fort Lee, New Jersey, Pauline Farinas of Miami, FL, Toni Brandt and her husband Alex of Holiday, FL; a brother George Catsavas and his wife Shirley of East Hartford, CT; ten grandchildren, including Tiffany Peacock Lange and her husband Mark of Richmond, VA and Kelly Peacock Norman and her husband Joe of Augusta; thirteen beloved great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carameros was preceded in death by her son George Carameros, her grandson Nicholas Eisberg and three sisters Stella Davis, Sophie Gavaris, and Georgia Solomon. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Pastor Mark Maund officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to St. John Towers, 724 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901 or to the charity of one's choice.
