Bettie Ruth Dicken

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, Bettie Ruth Dicken, 72, wife of the late Haskell C. Dicken.

Bettie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Kind and gentle, Bettie mothered many, even those who were not her children. Bettie enjoyed gardening and scrapbooking and was a devoted Christian. A member of Abilene Baptist Church, she loved to read her Bible every day and share the gospel and love for the Lord Jesus with anyone she came in contact with.

Family members include her late husband, Haskell C. “Sonny” Dicken; children: Sheila Bissell (Donnie), Roger Dicken, Dianna Hall (Jay), Cynthia Sakovich (Robert); grandchildren: Rachael Brooks, Paul Anderson, Jr., Cameron Holland, Gabbie Pinkston, Jacob Hall, Sarah Hall, Haskell “Jackson” Schilb, Grant Schilb, Blake Bissell, Corey Bissell; 6 great-grandchildren, brother: Barton Hall; sisters: Bobbie Merritt, Beverly Cooper, Becky Hardee and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ben and Bonnell Josephine Hall and brothers: Benny Hall and Larry Herrington.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Sonny Serigney officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Roger Lee Dicken, Paul Anderson, Jr., Jacob Guy Hall, Haskell Jackson Schilb, Grant Logan Schilb, Nathan Tyler Sellers.
