Betty Ann McKie Fair

Evans, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, June 22, 2024, Betty Ann McKie Fair was born on July 3, 1933, in Augusta, GA, daughter of Henry Martin and Bettie McElmurray McKie. 

She graduated from Richmond Academy (1952) and attended college for two years.

She is survived by two sons: Gordon Jr. (Liz) of Charlotte, NC and David of Dothan, AL; five grandchildren: Rachel, Reece, Spencer, David Jr., and Alex; three great grandchildren: Jack, Reid, and Ava. She was preceded in death by her husband Col. Gordon Fair.

Betty Ann was a devoted mother and wife who supported her Air Force husband throughout his 28-year career in various assignments in the US and Germany. She was active in the Officers Wives Club and president of one at Scott AFB, IL which reflected favorably on her husband’s career and promotion to full colonel. She was an avid golfer and president of two ladies golf associations. She was a florist for many years and owned her own business. As a young girl, she loved horses and rode them two or three times a week. 

Funeral services will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 29, 2024 with the Rev. Lindsey Solomon, officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
