Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, August 4, 2015, Mrs. Betty Jewel Sasser Council, 81, wife to the late Floyd Arto Council.
Mrs. Council was a native of Sardis, GA but grew up in Waynesboro. She lived in Blythe for 40 years where she was a longtime member of Blythe Baptist Church. Mrs. Council was a loving mother and Nana.
Family members include her daughters: Deebie Council (Patsy) , Patrice Council Huffman, Lorie Dillard (Chris), and Tina Romano (Tony); 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother: LTC Jacob (Alice) Sasser (U.S. Army Ret.); and sister-in-law: Ruby McGlohon. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her parents J.L. Sasser and Pauline Braswell, son Artie Council, and brother Carroll Sasser.
The funeral service will be Friday, August 7, 2015 at 4:00 P.M. at Blythe Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Freirson officiating. Burial will follow in Blythe Baptist Church Cemetery.
