Augusta, GA- Mrs. Betty Jo Holbrook Turpin went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Trinity Hospital surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Turpin was born in Rome, Georgia on November 21, 1926 and moved to Augusta in 1972. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Augusta.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dolan Dean Turpin, Sr. She is survived by one daughter Gail Nevils and husband Carl of Augusta; two sons: Dean Turpin Jr. and wife Merrell of Athens, GA, Wayne Turpin and wife Andrea of Martinez. Mrs. Turpin had ten grandchildren: Bobby Williams (Jana), Justin Turpin (Meg), Ryan Nevils, Brooke Nevils Jackson (Will), Halton Turpin, Jeremy Turpin, Laird Turpin (Karie), Meredith Turpin, Elizabeth Massey Turpin, and Clinton Turpin; four great-grandchildren: Jacob Williams, Zack Williams, Beau Jackson, and Dolan Dean Turpin III. Mrs. Turpin’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 11, 2013, in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with the Dr. Gordon Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
