Appling, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Doctors Hospital, Mrs. Betty Sleister Maddox, 75, wife of 54 years to the late Forrest E. Maddox.
Mrs. Maddox was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She retired from Kroger. She was a member of the Columbia County Merchants Association. She was president of Maddox Construction Company. She was a member of West Acres Baptist Church and a member of the choir.
Family members include her daughters: Beverly Eckles (Bill), Linda Hughes (David), grandchildren: Kenny Gordon, Chris Gordon, Jennifer Settles, John Carter, Brian Carter, Matthew Carter, 14 great grandchildren, brother, George W. Sleister, Jr. (Diane), sister: Sadie Compton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at West Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Stanley Crozier, Bill Easler, Roy Ellis, Jimmy Harper, Clarence Muns and J.R. Compton.
Memorial contributions may be made to West Acres Baptist Building Fund, 555 Gibbs Rd., Evans, GA 30809.
