Betty Young Hendrix
Augusta, GA – Mrs. Betty Hendrix, 65, the loving wife of Rocky Hendrix passed away on April 5, 2010 at her residence after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Wednesday, April 7th at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors on Davis Road with Pastor Phil Winsett officiating, interment will follow at Westover cemetery. Mrs. Hendrix spent most of her life in the Augusta area. In addition to her loving husband of 43 years, she is survived by her beloved daughters; Roxanne Camak (Jody) and Angie Cassedy (Kevin). Survivors also include six grandchildren; Audrey L. Camak, Arlen L. Camak, Graham J. Camak, J. Bryce Cassedy, Ella G. Cassedy and soon to be Brooks H. Cassedy.
She is survived by her brothers; Carl Young (Laverne), George Young (Sue), and Jimmy Young (Gayle): sisters; Billie Harris & Nancy Moore (Mitch) and a host of nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Audrey Young.
Mrs. Hendrix was born in Hattiesburg, MS. and moved to Augusta while in elementary school. She graduated from Butler High School in 1963. She pursued a career in cosmetology and worked as a licensed beautician. She was a member of Martinez Baptist Church and a member of Troy Wilson’s Sunday school class. She loved the Lord and is in his presence. Pallbearers will be Mitch Moore, Scott Moore, Chris Young, Kurt Young, Jim Young and Greg Young. Troy Wilson’s Sunday school class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
A big “Thank You” to Dr. John Hudson and the Augusta Oncology Staff for their special love and care throughout the years.
