Mrs. Beulah “Bea” Rodgers

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, May 31, 2011, Mrs. Beulah “Bea” Rodgers, 88, wife of the late MSG Walter B. Rodgers (Ret.-US Army).

Mrs. Rodgers was a native of Versailles, KY and was a resident of Grovetown until 1999 when she moved to Augusta. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Rodgers retired as Store Manager of Handy Land Stores and worked many years at Silverstein’s Cleaners. She was a member of the Eastern Star –Louis Chapter in Louisville, KY.

Family members include her son, the late Herman B. Rodgers of Grovetown; daughters: Sue Gunn and husband Clyde of Butler, GA, Rebecca Donaldson of Augusta; daughter-in-law, Ruth Rodgers of Grovetown; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rodgers was predeceased by her parents: George and Rachel Derringer; brothers: Jeff Derringer, Sam Derringer, Bill Derringer, Ben Derringer, Richard Derringer; sisters: Rachael Nalley, Ruby Fint, and Jo Hines.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Bill Reeder officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Wilkinson, Mark Rodgers, John Lanting, David Donaldson II, Henry Jackson, and Jason Brigham. Honorary pallbearers will be James Gunn, Herbie Newsome, John Lanting III, and Matthew Jackson.
