Billy (Bill) Peters

Evans, GA – Entered into rest at his home surrounded by his family, Sunday, December 23, 2012, Mr. Bill Peters, 76, husband of Mrs. Maureen I. Peters.

Mr. Peters was a member of Abilene Baptist Church and the Dave Hester Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Old Timers Breakfast Club at Hardees. Mr. Peters retired as a training department division chief after 34 years at Fort Gordon.

Family members in addition to his wife include daughters: Chandra Pihl (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL, Becky Service (Mike) of Atlanta and Beverly Bella (Jeff) of Evans; sisters: Nell Johnson (The Late Gary Johnson) of North Augusta; and Jean Balzano (The Late Frank Balzano) of Chicago, IL and grandchildren: Manderlay Groomes, London Pihl, Mackenzie Service and McCrae Bella; former step sons: Robert and Thomas Wells of Houston, TX.

Special thanks to a special family friend, retired nurse Janet Manning and Dr. Donald Townsend and the staff of University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Abilene Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Doss officiating. Interment will follow Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Dave Hester Sunday School Class.
