Billie Moore
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, June 6, 2011 at her home with her family by her side, Mrs. Billie Moore, age 93, wife of the late Richard T. Moore.
Mrs. Moore was born in Windsor, SC to Eugene S. Spires and Nevada Goss Spires and grew up in the Aiken area. As a teenager, she moved to the west, living in Colorado, Idaho, and Kansas, where she was a “Rosie the Riveter”. Mrs. Moore returned to Augusta in the 1950’s and married pharmacist, Richard T. Moore, and owned Moore’s Pharmacy. Billie loved to work in her yard, growing beautiful flowers, and watching the birds that came to her feeders. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Family members in addition to her late husband include daughters: Judy Moore of Augusta, Cecelia St. Clair of California, nieces: Billy Jean Pickett, Barbara Gibson and Sheila Hoynes, sisters: Betty McDonald, Ellen Snyder and Audrey Stacy, grandchildren: Vanessa Rumberg, Bradley Hall, Shelley Howell, Shaun St. Clair, Shane St. Clair and Theresa Wallace, numerous great and great-great grandchildren and Chloe, “The best dog I ever had”. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her son Walter Ray Hall.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. John Pinson officiating.
