Billy Ray Morris

Martinez, GA – Billy Ray Morris, 67, entered into rest Friday, June 9, 2023.

Billy was a loyal Georgia Bulldog, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons fan, and he especially enjoyed lake life. He was a fixture at his favorite spot, The Pizza Joint, and he loved all his family there. Billy was affectionately known as “Papa Monk”, he loved his family and his dog, Savannah.

Family members include his sons: Joshua Priester (Tina), Bailee Priester, Lucas Priester, and Bradley Walton; brother: Sam E. Morris; sisters: Sandra Morris Landrum, Tammy Blasko (Geno), and Joyce Morris; and many other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his father and momma: Richard K. “Sam” Morris, Sr. and Delores Johnson Morris; mother: Jeanette Tate Lamar; son: Adam D. Morris; brother: Richard K. “Moose” Morris, Jr.; nephew: Richard K. “Ricky” Morris III; and sister-in-law: Robyn J. Morris.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeff Rice, Jody Dickson, Andrew Howard, Mike Greene, Steve Wood, and Edward Bennett.
