He was born in Warren County, but lived the majority of his life in Hephzibah, GA. For almost 55 years, Billy was married to the love of his life, Ora. He enjoyed working in his yard and cheering on his favorite teams (GO TECH!), but his greatest joy came from attending church and sharing his faith with others.

Billy is survived by his twin sister Betty Newsome. He loved his sons and daughters-in-law, Greg (Tammie) and Mark (Barbara), as well as his beloved niece Teresa (Mike) Langham, his six grandchildren; Gavin (Brandi), Wade (April), Caitlynn (Jarred), Haley (Dakota), Savannah, Cayden, and one special great nephew, Drew (Sierra) Langham, and his fourteen great-grandchildren and a great-great nephew.

Family will receive friends on Monday, April 18th, at Thomas Poteet & Son from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19th, at The Sanctuary (4584 Cox Rd. Evans, GA 30809) at 2:00pm, with a graveside service to follow at Abilene Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jarred Kerley, Drew Langham, Mike Langham, Wade Newsome, Cayden Niemczyk, and Jarrett Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Billy's Sunday School Class at Abilene Baptist church.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Abilene Baptist Church - Building Fund (3917 Washington Rd. Martinez, GA 30907).

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks to University Hospital Heart & Vascular Tower and Promedica Hospice Care for the fabulous service they provided.
