Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, January 8, 2014, Mr. Bobby Cheeks, 82, husband of Mrs. Naomi Combs Cheeks.
Mr. Cheeks was a member of His Community Church. He was a choir member, former member of the church council and the Keenagers Group. Mr. Cheeks was a former Justice of the Peace and served on the Board of Tax Assessors for 10 years. He was the past President of AMBUCS and a former member of the Augusta Jaycees. Mr. Cheeks was also the owner of Bobby Cheeks Tax Service for over 50 years.
Family members in addition to his wife include daughters: Denise Mundy (Gerry) of Evans and Leticia Selph (David) of Augusta; son: Steve Cheeks (Teresa) of Augusta; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; stepdaughters: Brenda Padgett (Mike) of Augusta and Donna Combs of Augusta; and sister: Frances Lamb of Martinez. Mr. Cheeks was preceded in death by Lenora Cheeks and brother: Howard Cheeks.
A funeral service will be held, Friday, January 10, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Christopher Lotz officiating.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home at 1101 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30901 or to the Alzheimer Association at 106 SRP Drive Suite A, Evans, GA 30809
