Bonnie Holsenback

Augusta, GA – Ms. Bonnie Holsenback, 96, widow of O.J. Holsenback entered into rest on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Ms. Holsenback was the daughter of Charlie and Lola Strickland. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Bonnie Greer Merry, son-in-law: Bill Merry and sisters: Katie Templeton, Madge Goodale, and Evelyn Riggs.

Survivors include her grandsons, Brad Merry (Casey)
and Greg Merry. She had five great grandchildren, Emma Claire (22), Sarah Anne (20), Braden (17), Holly (16) and Daniel (14).

Bonnie was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a founding member of Westside Christian Church and most recently Grace Baptist Church of Evans. Ms. Holsenback was a waitress at the Bon Air Hotel for many years and later worked in the cosmetic department at J.B. White’s from which she eventually retired. She loved spending time with her family, playing card games with friends from church, eating fresh peaches and singing old hymns with anyone who would sing along.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son, with Pastor Barry Clanton officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Ms. Holsenback’s memory to Christway Christian Church, 404 Prescott Road, Martinez, GA 30907.
