Brad Greek

Bradley (Brad) V. Greek born on Christmas day in Winner, SD, ended his 17-year battle with Parkinson’s disease on March 10, 2025. He was 72. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Rhonda Greek his devoted son, Nick Greek, his brother, Wendell (Dell) - Kayrn Greek, of Sparta, Wisconsin, his sister, Judy Christensen-Lurz, of Presho, South Dakota, and his beloved fur babies, Arthur Hoover and Silas McGillicuddy. His mother and father, Ruth and Lester Greek, were already at Heaven’s gate to welcome him home.

His Parkinson's Disease robbed him of so many things, but it did not rob him of his spirit and the strength to keep moving forward by facing everyday head on. He delt with Parkinson’s in the same way he faced everything in his life, with dignity and courage and without complaint.

He was a standout athlete in high school and college. He was an avid runner and bicyclist and mountaineer. He loved to push the envelope and while in the air force he and a few of his climbing buddies summited the highest mountain peak in North America, Mt McKinley. His passion for aviation and airplanes began as a child and stayed with him throughout his whole life. He joined the air force and later the Army to follow his dream. He served with distinction in both branches.

He used his experience to transition to private aircraft maintenance and eventually retired from Standard Aero Aviation. Brad took great pride in his work and could talk about Falcon aircraft and its issues for hours. His wife did a lot of head nodding and “wow is that so?” But to this day she couldn’t tell you the first thing about Falcons, except that they break, they get fixed, and they fly. He loved what he did, and he loved the folks he worked with. He was well respected and admired. After his first surgery he returned to work accompanied by his son, Nick. Nick later said “It was like walking in with a rock star. People came from all over to say hi, welcome back.” Brad loved practical jokes and wasn’t above pulling a prank or two.

Brad was a man of many interests. Whatever he was into he was all into. His many hobbies included black and white photography, beer brewing, canoeing, bicycle repair, collecting bicycle jerseys, Mini Coopers, Weber BBQ grills, his yard, vintage jackets, storytelling, current events, growing the words hottest peppers, and especially drones. As the son of a beer distributor, he enjoyed a good brew.

His family would like to thank the many outstanding people who helped care for Brad. The VA Home-based Primary Care Team and the Caregiver Support team went above and beyond over, and over again. A more professional, compassionate, and committed group doesn’t exist. The people of MSA Hospice are some of the most committed and compassionate people we have ever had the privilege to work with.

They helped Brad with so much that thank you is not enough but THANK YOU!! Waters Cove Home Care helped to make Brad’s life so much fuller. You all helped make what was hard easier and you became not just caregivers, but friends.
