Brenda Fancher Johnson

Augusta, GA – Brenda Fancher Johnson, 79, cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, entered peacefully into rest at her home on June 5, 2024. Brenda was born on August 27, 1944. She was a lifelong resident of Augusta, Georgia. She was a bookkeeper for Jim Courson at Bigstar Grocery and Jim Courson Realty, where she worked for many years until her retirement. 

Brenda was baptized as a young girl at Crawford Avenue Baptist Church and was a faithful member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.  If you were fortunate enough to know Brenda, then you know what a great void her passing has left, but her family and friends can take comfort in knowing, without a doubt, that she is safe in the arms of God. 

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Maddox Fancher, her father, Edward Lee Fancher, and her stepmother, Barbara Scott Fancher. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Malcolm “Mac” Johnson, her two sons, Brad Patterson (Julie), and Jayson Akridge (Alexis), her sisters, Cecelia Fancher Powell (Joey-deceased) and Julie Fancher Thomas (Everett), her grandchildren, Dillan Patterson (Nichole) and Taylor Kemp (Kyle), her four great- grandchildren, John, Oliver and Maddie Patterson and Grayson Kemp, two nephews and four great nieces, and her dear friend and caretaker, Jessica Taylor.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 12:15 to 1:00 P.M. in the lobby of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Augusta, Georgia, with a memorial service conducted by Pastor Roger Schwartz to follow at 1:00 P.M. in the sanctuary.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for gifts to the Memorial Fund of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 402 Aumond Rd, Augusta, GA 30909.
