Bruce Carstarphen

Augusta, GA – Mr. Robert Bruce Carstarphen, Jr., 71, entered peacefully into rest on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Augusta University Medical Center surrounded by his cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Robert Bruce Carstarphen, Sr. "Sarge" and Wanda Bible Carstarphen.

Bruce was a native of Augusta having lived a quiet life in his childhood home for many years. He was a graduate of Butler High School and Augusta college with a degree in sociology. He worked in the family business, Carstarphen Enterprises, Inc. for many years. He enjoyed traveling and did extensive genealogy research on his family. He attended Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Bruce is survived by cousins Frank and Linda Carstarphen, Marion and Peggy Clark and Charlotte Cash of Columbus, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Nadine Ellsworth-Moran and Rev. Dr. Brandi Casto-Waters officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Road, Augusta, GA 30907.
