Bruce E. Long

Bruce Edward Long, 66, entered into glory on Thursday, January 16th, 2025. 

He was a loving father, adored grandfather, and faithful husband to Jennifer Long for over 43 years. Bruce was deeply loved for his kindness and playfulness and ability to make everyone he interacted with feel seen and heard. At work, home, or church, Bruce had a reputation of giving fully and joyfully of himself, whether it was staying late at work to make sure the job got done, to staying up late to help his children with homework--knowing he would be waking up again at 4:00 a.m. to spend time in prayer and bible study before starting his day. 

Bruce was a passionate, devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, his savior, and it showed in everything he did. Bruce’s memory will live on through his wife and ten children and their spouses: Jamie Long, Jessica Long, Jacqueline (Long) Carter and husband Scott Carter, Micah Long, Katherine Long, Jolene Long, Amelia (Long) Talley and husband Judah Talley, William Long, Audrey Long, and Bonnie Long. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and sister, Rebecca (Long) Leatherbury. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Long and Imogene Long, and his brother David Long.

 The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church of Augusta with Rev. John Barrett officiating. A reception will follow the service in St. Andrew's Hall. Interment will be private.
